NY Fashion Week – Marc by Marc Jacobs Spring 2010
Marc by Marc Jacobs always seems to surprise people that it’s actually good, which I still find hard to believe after so many great seasons in a row. The faux vintage mixed with high fashion styling always seems to match pop culture perfect and inspire all those people on LOOKBOOK.nu and Chictopia to try new things with their garage sale finds.
NY Fashion Week Recap
I finally had a chance to process NY Fashion Week and while I wasn’t as blown away as I was last time there were many things I liked. I think what I appreciated overall from the show was a move away from this cute stage that fashion has been in. After awhile it started to feel like a more expensive Project Runway show. With tough times here, there was a more mature, serious tone to a lot of the shows.
I’ve included some photos of what I liked, but realize that if I posted everything I liked there would be way too many photos, so I had to be strict. As usual Marc Jacobs and Thom Browne were my favorites and my biggest disappointment was Ralph Lauren. RL didn’t have a bad show, it just felt phoned in and more of the same of what you expect from them.
I’ve included photos from some of my favorite lines : Boy by Band of Outsiders, Band of Outsiders, Libertine, Marc Jacobs, Marc by Marc Jacobs, and Thom Browne.
